Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) – Take advantage of this considerable savings if offered through your employer. Check with your human resource department to inquire when open enrollment begins for your FLEX or Cafeteria Plan and find out if your account has any restrictions regarding using funds for copays. With this plan, pre-tax dollars are deducted each pay period to cover an elective procedure of your choice; in this case, LASIK or Laser Cataract Surgery. First, you should confirm your candidacy before you designate the funds. Prior to planning your FSA contribution for the year, schedule your LASIK Evaluation or Cataract Evaluation with Dr. Del Negro or Dr. Senft to see if you are a candidate for either of these elective procedures. Flex Spending funds can also be used for eyewear and contact lenses.

Heterochromia Iridis (TWO DIFFERENT COLORED IRISES). If just part of an iris is different to the remainder of the eye, this is known as partial or sectoral heterochromia. When heterochromia is present at or shortly after birth is usually hereditary or due to intrauterine disease or injury. Congenital heterochromia may be familial and is inherited as an autosomal dominant trait. Inherited eye color is determined by multiple genes. Environmental or acquired factors can alter these inherited traits.
